Description: Speedplay Zero Track Special inserts, #2, new (ONE PEDAL SET’S WORTH: 8 PIECES) IMPORTANT: These #2 inserts are NOT meant for novice riders. NOTE: With these #2 inserts, you can convert your legacy Speedplay Zero pedals or wahoo Speedplay Zero pedals to the Zero Track Special pedal configuration. All that is required is to remove the pedal body screws, remove the metal plates, remove the standard #1 inserts, install the #2 inserts, replace the metal plates, then reinstall the pedal body screws. These #2 inserts are the same inserts that came on the legacy Speedplay Zero Track Special pedals (w/ black pedal bodies, red dust caps & gold inserts.) These #2 inserts are compatible with legacy Speedplay Zero pedals and wahoo Zero pedals. These were provided to the public for riders who preferred to have a slightly stronger hold to prevent disengagement of the cleat from the pedal. Compared to the standard #1 inserts that came with regular Speedplay Zero pedals, these offer SLIGHTLY MORE RESISTANCE to disengagement. IMPORTANT: The use of the #2 inserts does NOT alter the force to engage the cleat on the pedal. With other pedal systems, increasing the force required to disengage one's cleats from the pedals requires turning a screw, which further compresses a spring, and has a commensurate increase in the force required to engage the cleats in the pedals. This is not the case with Speedplay's #2 inserts. The additional force required to disengage the cleat from the pedal is solely due to the steeper angles of the gold #2 inserts compared to the silver #1 inserts. Please reference the picture of the one silver insert and one gold insert and look carefully at the angles of each for comparison. (For those riders who require even more resistance to disengage, please refer to the #4 inserts sold on this account.) NOTE: Please note that unlike the standard inserts, there are no left or right 'sides'. Depending on whether you are installing them on a right or left pedal, you must insert them with the flat side up or the flat side down.
