Description: container transportation is the lifeblood of the current Japan Rail freight service; following wwii and the economic miracle of recovery in japan, Japanese rail engineers introduced a succession of container car designs in an attempt to speed up the service....the koki104 series was introduced in 1987 .....2000+ wagons have been produced primarily by kawasaki and nippon sharyo; they remain in service as of this listing....... I acquired this set as one of a group purchase of 7 kato freight wagons/sets from a private party in japan who averred that he had no knowledge of railroading and no knowledge of the history of the items as he was acting solely as a selling agent for the original owner....upon arrival, all of the sets appeared unused albeit with with some varying degrees of packaging degradation - not surprising considering the items' release date......the 2 wagons from the 10-317 set were not exceptions to the group character - pristine wheel sets and aesthetically perfect bodies coupled with jewel case cloudiness impervious to "goo gone" and slightly ultravioletly discolored inner plastic retaining trays.......this listing is for the 104-1600 running number only as the original owner's failure to retain the master carton precludes sale of the set together..... the only accessories for this wagon are the end gate and brake wheel.........as the paperboard master carton had assembly instructions printed on its outside surface, i have posted a copy of the instructions in the last picture associated with this listing.......
