Description: For sale are 2 pieces from a vintage 1951 M.J. Hummel nativity set by Goebel of West Hermany. The baby Jesus figurine is in beautiful condition, with not chips cracks or crazing. Just over 3-1/2" long and approximately 1-1/2" high. Baby Jesus is painted with a nice satin finish while his white blanket is glossy. The sweet little angel, measures 3-1/2" high and is 2" wide from wingtip to wing tip. There are no cracks or crazing, but as you can see in the photos, there is some paint either worn off the upper edges of both wings. Both are marked Goebel, West Germany and 1951 on their bottoms. The Baby Jesus figurine is also marked M.J. Hummel and has a piece number - 214A on the underside along with the number 99. The back hemline of the angel's skirt is very faintly marked MJ Hummel, but it's very hard to discern & I found it impossible to photograph.
