Franklin D. Roosevelt Signed Treaty Letter To U.S Senate Framed Display Uncommon

Description: Franklin Delano Roosevelt [1882 1945] was the 32nd President of the United States who served from 1933 until his death on April 12 1945. Listed for auction is a framed display which contains a unique [TLS] typed letter signed by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The letter was sent by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to the United States Senate for Ratification of a Treaty with Sweden. The treaty covers taxation between the two countries and prevents Sweden and America from being taxed by both countries on the same investments. The letter is dated White House April 20, 1939, typed on blind embossed Seal of the United States of America in the upper left corner of the first page. The letter reads as follows, ''To the Senate of the United States; I transmit herewith a conviction between the United States of America and Sweden for the avoidance of double taxation and the establishment of rules of reciprocal administrative assistance in the case of income and other taxation, signed at Washington on March 23, 1939. The convention was negotiated and signed under full powers issued by me. It has the approval of the Department of State and the Treasury Department. It also has my approval, and I ask the advice and consent of the Senate to its ratification, together with the protocol attached thereto and made an integral part of the convention, which defines certain terms used in the convention and contains provisions to govern the administration of the convention. I enclose for the information of the Senate a copy of the report of the Secretary of State laying the convention before me, in which its provisions are reviewed.'' The letter is signed ''Franklin D. Roosevelt'' in black fountain pen and dated at the bottom of page two, The White House, April 20, 1939. The pages measures 8.00 x 11.75 inches and are in fine condition. The display is centered around a b/w formal image of President Roosevelt and mounted below is a professionally engraved metal plaque which reads as follows, ''The 32nd President of the United States of America. Franklin D. Roosevelt January 30, 1882 - April 12, 1945. Letter sent by President Roosevelt to the Senate of the United States for ratification of a treaty with Swedes & Americans from being taxed by both countries on the same investments. The White House, April 20th, 1939. Blind embossed Seal of the United States. The display is stunning and has been assembled in all acid free materials with great attention to detail as follows. Each item within the display has been triple matted in a grey linen outer matte and accented with a silver and a black inner matte.
