This moon is where the crew of the Nostromo including Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley first encounter the Xenomorphs in the original 1979 film, Alien. Its also the setting for the 1986 sequel, Aliens, where a colony established by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation is overrun by the creatures. LV-426 is infamous for being one of the first places where humans encountered the deadly Xenomorph species, leading to numerous tragic events throughout the series.
