Description: Here's a set of four plates by "Doulton" of Burslem. The mark indicates a manufacturing date between 1886 and 1902. The "KEW" shape, or decoration, was produced prior to 1891 so these would be from around 1890. I suspect that "KEW" was a shape, or body, with a specific floral/vine brown transfer pattern. Some pieces, like these, had colors and gold trim added. The blue flowers, with a yellow center, are rare indeed. The four scalloped rim plates measure approximately 6 3/8" diameter. There is light spotty crazing and stains. I did not soak them or make any attempt to remove the stain. No chips, nicks or cracks. I felt a tiny (pinhead size) bump under the rim of three and inspected with a loupe. All three seem to be a tiny manufacturing flaw (either an added or missing speck of clay). Please feel free to email with any questions prior to bidding or buying. I try to give any information I have about the listings, and to tell you whether the information is fact or opinion. I have a "full refund option" (see returns below) policy for anything I misrepresent. My description will point out anything I find that could possibly be considered a flaw. For this reason, many past buyers felt that they received a better product than they expected.DOMESTIC SHIPPING CHARGES: Most small, or light, purchases ship for free via USPS first class or priority.
